It’s the same ritual, day after day. I’m siting in a quiet, polished room. The lights are dim, and the cream-colored curtain is open. Do you see me? I dressed up just for you. Are you watching—watching closely? Maybe I’m staging this just for you. Has something changed? Can you notice? Can you capture my eyes? I’m looking right back at you, reversing the roles in this game. But what are the rules, really? I’m watching you now—am I above you? I’m trying to establish a certain power dynamic, yet here you are, observing me in the comfort of my own space. I crave your approval. Do you like me? Do you see me?

“Do You Like Me? Do You See Me?” explores the conflicted nature of voyeurism, probing the ethical and emotional complexities involved in observing others from a distance. The exhibition invites the viewer to examine how they, in the intimacy of their own space, become active participants in this act of looking. It navigates the tension between detachment and intimacy, asking whether the pleasure of watching—scopophilia—also demands a reflection on power and identity.

As the viewer becomes both spectator and participant, questions arise: What is the role of the observer? How does the gaze shape power dynamics and influence our construction of self and others? Through moments of passive observation, the exhibition encourages an intimate self-reflection on these themes, urging viewers to confront the blurred boundaries between connection and control, pleasure, and responsibility.
