CRUSH TEST #1: Craig Green

Marc Goehring

In the first of our new segment “CRUSH TEST,” 032c’s fashion editor Marc Goehring takes on Craig Green's beige laced anorak from the SS17 collection and experiences love at first sight.

CRUSH TEST #1, May 11th, 2017, 10:54am

A camel canvas coat has requested my presence. Its punctured ringed holes, threaded with durable rope-lace, coyly ask me to breathe life into its weather-proof exterior. As I eye the garment with like-minded, yet carefully choreographed, interest – flattery is my kryptonite – I ignore the confusing straps, seemingly placed at random. I am blinded by its coquettish teasing and duly accept the sudden arising urge to be fit for the possibility of weathering a desert storm. Drunk with its pull, and remembering Berlin’s sandy earth – which renders it, by definition, truly an arid region – I step into its embrace.

Deception! How foolish one can be when one is confronted with instant attraction. Suddenly, I find myself in the grips of a boa constrictor – a riddle, masquerading as a straitjacket. Patience is key, here. To quote Violet Fane: “Good things come to those who wait.”

At last, I have tamed the siren. Our features blend into a cocktail of unattainable poise, each heightening the others je ne sais quoi. Craig Green’s exquisitely skilled design has been mastered. As the picture faithfully proves, we have arrived at mutual love. You and me forever, my dear companion.
