“Archive” by Alexander Schröder
032c Workshop / Joerg Koch is pleased to present “archive,” a collection of Alexander Schröder’s keepsakes.
Alexander Schröder, co-founder of Galerie Neu and MD72, has an extensive collection of contemporary art. This will not be shown. For the vitrine at 032c Workshop, Schröder will dust off and exhibit some of his most treasured curiosities that he’s picked up over the years from across the continents. Asian ceramics, Persian carpets, hidebound Manchurian drawings, photos of French missionaries – these are objects that command his current imagination. Schröder says that his hoarding informs his taste in art, and the artifacts he collects compliment the artworks he buys. Alongside these objects are works by Danh Vo – who’s worldview similarly hinges on memories of bygone eras and the struggle against their vanishing.
