The Next Big Thing Is Swimming in Socks: COTTWEILER Video Premiere on 032c

British menswear designers Matt Dainty and Ben Cottrell are the duo behind COTTWEILER, the London-based luxury casualwear brand. With a focus on simplicity, function, and fit, Cottweiler’s designs have become a favourite among a new wave of young London artists, including FKA Twigs, Palmistry, and design collective Primitive London. Here they debut their new video ESPACE FORM on 032c. The film, shot on location in a Parisian public pool by HART + LËSHKINA, marks the release of the label’s new line of activewear socks, seen submerged in the video alongside the SS/14 transparent tracksuit. “We started making our own socks and wanted them to be shot in a non-product context,” explains the duo.

  • Overcoming Originality: MAURIZIO CATTELAN and Gucci Steal Shanghai

Speaking about his new show at the Yuz Museum in Shanghai, a collaboration with Alessandro Michele of Gucci, artist and curator Maurizio Cattelan says, “We are both fascinated witnesses of the overcoming of originality in our contemporary society.” The exhibition brings together works from more than 30 artists that, like Cattelan’s own oeuvre, question notions of reproduction and newness, considering the lives of copies, and the overdue absolution of the copyist.More
