Stan Smith’s Identity Crisis

What happens when a product you endorse starts to endorse you? Well, if it’s as modern, clean, and classic as the STAN SMITH, so much. “A lot of people now think I’m a shoe, and they don’t even know I exist necessarily,” says American tennis legend Smith about the adidas relaunch of the all-whites. “The shoe went way beyond me.”  In the brand’s newly released global campaign actors, athletes, musicians, and artists talk about what the sneaker means to them. It’s no surprise that Smith’s son once asked, “Dad, did they name the shoe after you, or you after the shoe?” The full range of our favorite sneakers will be available beginning in January 2014.

"We consciously run the risk of missing out on the occasional shooting star born after 1989. But that leaves us time to take a new look at old masters." 032c sits down with Tittel in the magazine's Berlin Kurfürstendamm HQ. More
