TRAVEL DIARY: Marc Goehring Heads to Ssense Montréal for 5 MONCLER Craig Green
In 1952, René Ramillon and Andrè Vincent produced a range of quilted sleeping bags in Monestier-de-Clermont, triggering a line of mountain-ready equipment and apparel that soon became Moncler, maker of the first down jackets – sturdy, protective garments that were still as light as air. This week, Montréal saw the latest iteration of Moncler’s ongoing Genius project, an initiative conceived by Chairman and CEO Remo Ruffini that taps innovative designers for experimental new collections showcasing the heritage outerwear brand’s creative and technical savvy. After its global debut at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year, Moncler’s collaboration with British designer Craig Green – a wunderkind of function and abstraction – became part of an installation at SSENSE Montréal, where the architectural performance wear joined mechanical sculptures by Isabel + Helen for a presentation in the brutalist retail space. After styling highlights from Green’s architectural creations for Moncler near our headquarters in Berlin-Kreuzberg for a shoot with Julien Boudet, 032c fashion director Marc Goehring couldn’t resist following the performance gear to Canada, where Green happened to be celebrating his birthday. It was, in Goehring’s own words, “a major schmood.”
Goehring’s still on the road, but his travelog has already made it back to our Berlin workshop.
If you follow the “032c Weather Report” on Instagram, you’ll know the weather is crazy bad in Montréal. Thankfully, I am prepared in my 5 Moncler Craig Green windbreaker!
OK, dying. How to lose 15kg in less than 10 mins. It’s 32°C in Berlin. #YOLO
The new skinny me only drinks gluten-free soya chai lattes. Shoutout Moncler.
Pulling up to Berlin Tegel Airport like . . .
The Lufthansa Lounge always takes good care of me. Loving the show, guys!
Found a current issue of GQ Germany. Apparently I am the Sommerhit of 2018. #Schmood

A rising, falling, blow-up tower by UK designers Isabel + Helen. So. Freakin. Extra.

*Kendall Jenner voice: “I was never one of those girls . . .”
Shop the drop.
Cheers Craig Green! Cheers Angelos Tsourapas! Love u guys.
(Never mind that Angelos is clearly trying to escape. I think I might be the first person to actually catch him on camera.)
Turns out the rumors were true. SSENSE really does have the best selection!
#Shoutout to Chipperfield Architects. Nice.
I went to Montréal and all I got was this AWESOME BAG.
Montréal Fashion School 2018 heads to dinner. Salut Sam Wilson!
We ate at Pastel, the fanciest place in town. You know, contemporary fusion cuisine . . . eating tiny trees which are in fact carrots – and taste like sushi. Cool!
They asked me to leave a nice note, which I did.
Craig Green design feature, or end to a good night? Bonne nuit, Montréal.
5 Moncler Craig Green is available at Moncler boutiques, moncler.com, ssense.com and SSENSE MONTRÉAL. You can read more about the collection at SSENSE, and see the editorial photographed by Julien Boudet and styled by Marc at St Agnes in Berlin here.
