“Cast_1: Work Lamps” by Konstantin Grcic

032c Workshop is pleased to present the first part of KONSTANTIN GRCIC’s “Cast_1 series,” and the release of his 032c special-edition Diana side tables. “Cast_1′′ is a never-ending program bringing together new, forgotten, anonymous, commissioned, or reissued industrial objects and products. For the opening investigation in the series, Grcic uncovers the peculiar architecture of the work lamp with a selection of eight historical and contemporary designs that illustrate the varied forms of a product with a singular function.

The lamps include: Fortebraccio by LucePlan (1998), BL_2 by Bestlite (1930), L-1 8155 by Luxo (1937), Pino T by Baltensweiler (1972), Hebi by Valenti Luce (1970), Cloe by Lumina (1975), Bill by Tobias Grau (2004), and Loft by Jieldé (1950).

The supporting Diana side tables, designed by Grcic and produced by ClassiCon in a special edition for 032c, are made of sheet metal and powder coated with vibrant, metallic car-paint colors.
