032c has collaborated with Rubchinskiy since his inaugural collection “Evil Empire” in 2008, a nod to Ronald Reagan’s infamous Cold War speech, and welcome him back for a 2nd presentation at the vitrine. The exhibition presents an installation of images from Rubchinskiy’s most recent fashion story for 032c and his book „Youth Hotel“ (Idea Books, 2015). 032c also launches its new winter issue #29, featuring a look inside Rubchinskiy’s vertically integrated youth universe.

In an era of mounting geopolitical tensions, Rubchinskiy’s youth-focus and localized take on culture is a necessary departure from the polarizing and sensationalist tone taken on by the news media. As Rubchinskiy himself states in his profile interview: “Of course, all the fights in the press where people are divided into ‘us’ and ‘them’ are just bullshit. But on the other hand, there is a great international unity of young people. I think young people don’t give a shit about politics. They don’t listen. They don’t believe in it.
