To accompany their SS19 womenswear collection, “Hardware to Software,” French collective Andrea Crews commissioned Marie-Elsa Batteux Flahault, Samuel Monnet, and Le Studio Humain’s Benjamin Penaguin to create a digital lookbook using techniques derived from photogrammetry and 3D-imaging. The label, founded in 2002 by Maroussia Rebecq, is known for Technicolor upcycled garments, streetwear couture, and DIY-flavored workshops, which aim to unearth new ways of understanding fashion – what it represents, who it is for, and how it might evolve. Their most recent Paris happening, 99 Vêtements Populaires, was a celebratory second-hand only runway staged at the Hotel de Ville during last weekend’s Nuît Blanche festival. In the series below, exclusive to 032c.com, Andrea Crews’ latest sports- and workwear-inspired looks are rendered in a CGI palette of near-future silver and grey, its wearers fully immersed in the oddly familiar architecture of a digitized world.
