On June 3rd, the label founded by GAIKA,The Spectacular Empire Records, launched NINE NIGHTS. An ongoing series of live-streamed performances by Black musicians, poets, and DJs worldwide, the program has set a fundraising goal of £10,000 to benefit Black initiatives on the local and international scale. The third installment will stream tomorrow, July 16th @ 9pm CST, and will spotlight fellow Berliners DJ STINGRAY, KELVYN COLT, LIMITROFE TELEVISION, MARSHELL VINCENT, MONEYAMA, NAHIR FRANCIS, NICO ADOMAKO, NKISI, NUZIA, and SLIM SOLEDAD.

When 032c spoke with GAIKA at the beginning of the month, the mercurial artist was gearing up for his second full-length album release. Published by the Mexico City electronic label, N.A.A.F.I., Seguridad encapsulates Gaika’s politically-aware, diaspora-infused, goth-electro style, which has earned him an eager fanbase since 2015’s Machine mixtape.
