Emblazoned with its company icon and our own, the 032c NETSCAPE SHIRT is a salute to the world’s first mass-market web browser. Netscape’s story is a parable for the mythological creation-destruction cycle of invention. Born from the technology of the academic Mosaic browser in 1994, it was our first gateway to the World Wide Web, before being crushed by Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. As the company’s founder Marc Andreessen has often said, the biggest inventions often differ from their original intention. Thomas Edison’s gramophone was made for church sermons, but instead created the music industry. The Internet was an academic tool before it swallowed the entire world. The future is beautiful chaos and we’re excited to surf what’s next.
