Visiting Milan design week 2016 with Marc Bolan

A final set of pics from Milan design week: this time, paired with T Rex’s beautifully absurd lyrics by GIANLUIGI RICUPERATI.

The week of Salone Del Mobile.Milano is done. It’s time for isolation and memories, and there’s nothing better than an old T.Rex song, one of the peaks in Marc Bolan’s eternal quest for the perfect pitch of epic sexy: “Mambo Sun“.

I paired up a stanza (or two verses) of these beautifully absurdist lyrics with a selection of fun pictures from various corners of the Salone.

Salone Mambo, to be read and heard out loud, in sequence.

Get it on!

Girl you’re good / And I’ve got wild knees for you / On a mountain range / I’m Dr. Strange for you

Gianluigi Ricuperati is an author and the creative director of Domus Academy. He discussed the self-driving car in 032c Issue 28, and earlier sent us a piece of visual reportage on the first day of design week, and a set of books of which the week reminded him.
